Now, the last few days before any trip can be pretty hectic. We’ve all been there. Whether you’re traveling for a couple of days or for several months altogether, the checklist that needs to be crossed off remains the same. What needs to be planned a week before the vacation is delayed until the morning you’re scheduled to leave and with so many tasks on hand, you’re bound to commit mistakes. For your smooth departures, we have compiled a pre-travel checklist. We hope you find it useful and it saves you the last minute running around

A Week Before Your Grand Getaway:
– Note down your packing list. Everything that you need to carry.
– Start consuming the perishables. Further, limit your purchases.
– Pay your due bills.
– Try and wrap up every piece of work.
– Gear up the reading material. This includes books, magazines or e-books.
– Re-fill your medicinal supplies. You wouldn’t fancy running out of them while on the trip.
– Let your relatives/friends know of your itinerary.
– Stock up toiletry and clothes. But what you don’t already have.
– If you have a pet, arrange for a kennel stay/pet sitter.
– Hold all your mails and newspapers. You don’t want everyone to know that you’re not home.
– If you’re flying overseas, notify your bank and credit card company so they might not refuse the charge

A Day Before:
– Get done with all the perishable items that are still left. You can carry some as in-flight snacks.
– Laundry needs to be washed.
– Confirm you accommodations if you’ve pre-booked them.
– The same goes for rental vehicles.
– Don’t forget to get a print of your boarding passes.
– Get your passport xeroxed.
– Make a list of all your destination’s addresses and their contact numbers.
– Put together everything that needs to be packed. And then remove as much as you can. It’s essential to travel light.
– Stay updated on your destination’s weather forecast.
– Backup your data. It’s vital in case you lose your phone or laptop.
– Format your camera’s memory cards.
– Keep a healthy amount of cash.

The Morning You Leave:
– Dispose the garbage.
– Ensure that all the windows and doors are locked.
– Unplug all the electronics.
– Completely charge all your electronic devices.
– Pack chargers for each device.
– Check for all your IDs and browse through your itinerary.
– Check for the last minute essentials (sunglasses, sunscreens, wallet, medicines)

Every time we leave, we end up forgetting a thing or the other. Trying to cram too many things on the final morning is just not feasible. To help you get organized, we, at Sehgal Transport, thought of coming up with this neglected yet essential topic. Let’s hope it helps you get all your ducks in a row.
